Let’s Talk Hormone Health podcast with Lorraine Keane
Ever wanted to learn more about your hormone health? Now you can do so easily with Cleanmarine’s new podcast Let’s Talk Hormone Health.
With episodes focusing on Perimenopause and Menopause, this is such a valuable resource for women entering this stage of their lives, usually from age 40, looking for more information about how it will impact their day, and overall health.
Speaking about the importance of having this resource, Consultant Endocrinologist, Dr. Mary Ryan, said; “Our hormones control so many of our bodily functions, we can all take simple steps to improve our Hormone Health at all life stages, in particular as we approach menopause.”
“I am excited to bring my knowledge as a Consultant Endocrinologist to the airwaves with Lorraine Keane on the Let’s Talk Hormone Health Podcast and make this information accessible to all”.
Before launching the podcast, and before restrictions where in place, they had already travelled the length and breadth of the country educating women on their hormone health through informative and live talks with Sarah Brereton, Nutritional Therapist.
As well as receiving an amazingly positive reaction, it also highlighted that these types of conversations about female health, hormones and menopause with audiences were really needed, as well as the ability for anyone to listen, at anytime.
As well as discussing the menopause, the perimenopause is also a topic the hosts have delved into on the podcast, as it is a chapter in women’s lives that is often overlooked.
Perimenopause is a normal part of a woman’s hormonal journey, so learning more about it and talking about it with friends, family or healthcare professionals can help you to support yourself through this stage of life.
Speaking about this, award winning broadcaster Lorraine Keane said; “I had no idea that perimenopause was relevant to me in my late 30’s or early 40’s because it had menopause attached to it…. I’ve come out and said I’ve perimenopause and it’s not something to be ashamed of, it’s just another stage that we are going to have to go through. We are all living longer now.”
Cleanmarine Nutritional Therapist Sarah Brereton says; “Perimenopause is also an opportunity to look at your diet to support hormone health; with a focus on increasing our intake of Omega 3 oils (found in oily fish, nuts seeds, olives and avocados), fiber, whole grains and fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables.”
“Hydration is key, too, and so making sure you’re taking in enough water is important. Processed carbohydrates and sugars can leave us experiencing energy dips, so you could look to reduce processed carbohydrates and sugars also.”
